Within Zilker Park’s 358 acres, lies one of the crown jewels of Austin, Barton Springs Pool. Three acres in size, the pool is fed from under ground springs and is on average 68 degrees year round. Dripping Springs

Hamilton Pool in Dripping Springs, Texas
Just outside of Austin to the southwest is Hamilton Pool in Dripping Springs Texas. This spot is a wonderful place to cool off and take the kids for a nature hike and swim. Located about 30 miles southwest of Austin. You just take Highway 71 west of Austin through the town of Bee Cave and turn left onto FM 3238 (Hamilton Pool Road). Then travel 13 miles to the Preserve entrance on your right.

Be sure to call ahead to make sure the park is open!!! They do not filter the water so conditions may make necessary to close the park to swimmmers.
